What Pet Owners Are Saying

Sally S.

Phil is so reliable and kind-hearted plus he always texts pictures of our dogs to let us know how they are doing!! Highly recommend for dog visits or dogsitting!!

Matt K.

If you love your dog, there is not a more kind and gentle-hearted man. Phil has passion and love of dogs. I wouldn’t want anybody else to care for my pup.

Sharon L.

Phil has helped me out so many times over the last year when I need to work late. My neighbors often see Phil with my dogs, and comment about how great Phil is with them!

Private Dog Walks

Too little exercise, stimulation and boredom are primary reasons for behavior and health-related issues. When you choose private, closely-supervised dog walks you are taking a necessary step to keep your dog healthy, happy and well adjusted. A dog’s daily walk is more than just exercise. It’s their way of understanding the outside world.

When a dog is deprived of their daily walk they develop irrational fears. Things like a trash can or ambulance siren can bring on fearful behavior. This is why many trainers and dog behaviorists believe a daily walk is the single most important thing you can do for your dog.

Dogs Must Walk! was founded in 2014 in Ipswich, Massachusetts by former kennel worker Philip King. When he noticed the stress some dogs were under during daycare or after a few days of boarding, it just didn’t sit right with him. He set out to start a business to help people navigate their busy work and travel schedules while keeping their dogs on their normal schedule in their own home. By doing individual walks, dogs are not jockeying for position to use the bathroom and it allows the walker to concentrate on your dog to keep them safe and happy.

Our walkers are lifelong dog owners carefully chosen for their empathy, reliability, and of course, their love of dogs. We pride ourselves on punctuality, dependability, and animal adoration. Many of our caregivers participate in ongoing education courses designed to enhance their knowledge of professional dog care. At Dogs Must Walk!, we never overbook our walkers. When a walker is overbooked and rushing around they become stressed, which can negatively affect the dog. We believe that keeping our walkers happy keeps the dogs happy!

Our walkers are reference checked and thoroughly vetted, are current or previous dog owners, experienced in handling all breeds, and trained in basic dog handling skills by senior staff members.
